Nehemiah 1
Restoration Realities

DEVOTIONAL: personal and group

Theme: Desperate Request

Read Exodus 32:1-6 “Who sets you free?”

  • In v.4, Israel seemed confused about who brought them out of slavery into freedom. Why?

  • In v.6 it is written they were playing. In what area of your life have you been playing and not being satisfied with living according to the Gospel?

Read Exodus 32:7-14

  • In vv.11-14, what two reasons does Moses give to God for not destroying the people of Israel?

  • Where do you need to receive forgiveness and believe the Gospel as God’s better plan for life?

Read Exodus 32:15-29

  • Moses went from protecting Israel against God’s wrath to having God’s anger against their sin.

  • When was the last time you were so angry with sin in your life that you took serious action against it?

Read Exodus 32:30-35

  • How is Jesus similar but greater than Moses in dealing with our sin?

  • How can we follow Moses’ example of bringing sinners to God, in light of the Gospel of Jesus?
