SERMON Based Questions

Theme: The Gospel Heals and Restores self and others

Devotional Questions

Read Leviticus 19:9-1 and 23:23-25

  • God’s law made provision for the poor, needy and traveler.

  • How does this reflected in Jesus ministry summarized in Luke 4:18-19?

  • The practice of leaving grain and grapes behind during the harvest commanded in Leviticus 19 and 23 would most likely result in waste.

  • Some people say giving to the needy is a waste, because they should not have gotten themselves in that situation.

  • Looking at the last two bullet points, how does God’s wastefulness show His generosity, grace and ability to provide?

Application

  • How can you “waste” what God has given you on the needy to show God’s generosity, grace and ability to provide?

  • Make a concrete plan and also look for people to show God’s love in a practical way. Tell them why.
