Group Questions

  • Briefly share:  how do you typically feel during the Lord’s Supper- guilty, forgiven, excluded, included?
  • Based on what Jesus death has accomplished in setting you free from sin, should the Lord's Supper make you feel guilty or be a cause of deep thankful rejoicing?

Into the Bible Questions: Jesus redemptive work changes our past, present & future

  • Read Hebrews 10:1- 18 (especially vv.17- 18) Do you view your faith in Jesus as setting you free from guilt as the author of Hebrews describes? If no, why not?
  • Read Romans 5:1- 11 What does Paul say our attitude should be as a result of what Jesus has done?
  • Read Romans 6:1- 4 Are you walking according to your joyful new life of freedom or are you trying to carry the old dead you around?
  • Read 1Peter 1:3- 5 You have an ever present future hope. How does this encourage you now?

Application Questions

  • Read - Ephesians 4:17- 32 & Galatians 5:16- 24 Doesn’t the new way in Christ sound so much better? If so, then put down the corpse of your old life and its' dead deceptive ways and put on the new you in Christ!
  • How? 2nd Corinthians 10:5, Ephesians 4:22- 24 and Romans 12:1- 2 Paul reminds us preach the Good News of the redemption to ourselves when the old pattern of thinking comes into our minds, will and actions. Throw off the old and put on the new way of thinking that results in a life of freedom and results that we can celebrate!
