Devotional Questions

  • Read Luke 4:18- 21

  • How do you see yourself as poor and needy of Jesus?

  • How has and is Jesus releasing you from captivity to sinful thoughts and actions?

  • How has and is Jesus’ freedom from slavery to sin resulted in slavery to righteousness, for more read Romans 6.

  • Freedom has a price. What has and is it costing you? How is it worth it? If you need help here, talk to members of your Growth Group to gain understanding.

  • Jesus proclaimed a Jubilee, a period of Freedom & Forgiveness. Have you begun to experience this new life of freedom & forgiveness, really?

  • If not what do you need to do?

Group Questions

  • Discuss what freedom looks like based on your answers to the devotional questions.

Finding Freedom!  Luke 4:16- 30

Vv. 14- 15 Join Jesus and walk through the fire to victory.

Vv. 16- 21

  • Good News is for those who realize they are in need of it.

  • Good News is not a cheap outward Cracker Jack prize, but deep transformation that will change everything in your life until you are complete.

  • Liberty will cost you. So, you have to fight for it.

  • Do you want to be free?

Vv. 22- 30

  • Do you resent Jesus for His radical freedom and His call to forgive those who hurt you?

  • Is the problem really someone else?

  • At the end of the day, you will either want to join Jesus or you will want to kill Him.
