SERMON NOTES (Devotion below Notes)

Acts 1:12-26 “Missional Rhythm”

Vv. 12-14 Anticipation in Action

  1. Our Passover: My words and actions in public and private will reflect my unity with Christ and His church that His death and resurrection made possible.

  2. Our Festival of Weeks

  • The Holy Spirit sets me free from a life of idolatry and immorality by placing God’s law in my heart.

  • Therefore, I will walk dead to sin and alive to God as I join the church on mission.

  1. Our Festival of Booths: As I learn to trust God, I will move forward on mission and in unity with this church until Jesus returns for His harvest.

Vv. 15-26 The Secure Apostolic Witness

  • The truthfulness of my Gospel witness is built on the unified testimony of trustworthy first hand witnesses.

  • So, I will think on and put into practice God’s word daily so that I might grow in obedience to His law of love and call others to do the same.

Since I can trust the apostolic witness, I will share with great confidence that faith in Jesus frees us from sin.
