Description

SERMON Based Devotional

Theme: Passing on Devotion to God

Read Deuteronomy 4:25-31

God pronounces judgements upon His people if they do not obey His commandments and worship false gods.

  • How is God still gracious in vv.29-31?

  • What does this text say about how people will act even when they see God’s miracles in their life?

  • What does this say about God’s character in dealing with a stubborn people?

Read 1 Samuel 2:22-25 and 8:1-4

Eli was a godly man but not his sons. Eli gave them a position that hurt them and others because they didn’t listen. So Eli didn’t pass on the blessing.

Samuel was also a godly man but he allowed his wicked sons to rule. As a result, Israel asked Samuel for a king.

  • What should Eli and Samuel have done differently with their sons?

  • When have you not listened to tuff correction or resisted discipline?

  • What can you change right now in your life by learning from your mistakes and who else can learn from your mistakes?
