Description

SERMON Based Devotional

Theme: Pruning = Good Fruit

Read John 15:1-17

  • Pruning hurts because we are used to certain things in our life.

  • How does going through the pain of pruning help produce good fruit?

  • What ways do you think God prunes us?  Ex. James 2:1-4, 5:26

  • If God uses other believers to help us grow then what are some opportunities that my church has provided?

  • What are some regular practices that can help me abide in Christ, at home, at work, when relaxing etc.? (Re-read John 15:1-17)

SERMON NOTES

Luke 6:39-45 “Pruning = Good Fruit”

Vv. 39- 40 Be sure to follow those who follow Jesus

  • Where I have been blindly following something I thought that was good, I will turn to follow Christ who is best.

  • I will seek to be a part of a small group that encourages each other to follow Jesus on mission.

Vv.41-42 Look in the mirror

  • I will allow others to help me remove the log in my own eye so that I might help others.

  • I will focus on the solution rather than the problem.

Vv.43-45 What kind of fruit are you (we) producing?

  • My words and actions are either drawing myself and others closer to Jesus or away from Jesus.

  • What area in my life do I need to leave behind so that I can follow Jesus in blessing others?
