Bro. Nathan VanHorn

Nathan and his wife, Haley, came to Folsom in July 2010.  Nathan VanHorn was born in New Orleans, LA, where his father attended and later taught at the New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. Nathan committed his life to Christ at age 6, and when he was 8 he moved with his family to Columbia, MS. After graduating from Columbia High School in 2003, Nathan attended Mississippi College in Clinton, MS, where he majored in Christian Studies and history. During college Nathan became involved in several local ministries, including an inner city Bible club and a college ministry. During his first two summers, he served as a counselor at Central Hills Baptist Retreat in Kosciusko, MS. In 2005, Nathan was called as Minister to Students at Beulah Memorial Baptist Church, where he served until moving to New Orleans to attend Seminary in August 2008. During his master’s studies, Nathan concentrated on Biblical Languages and Interpretation.  He graduated with his M.A. in Biblical Studies in May 2010 and is currently pursuing his doctorate at NOBTS.  As a minister, Nathan’s greatest passion is to promote discipleship, fellowship, and evangelism through building relationships.  In his free time, he enjoys reading, writing, travelling, guitar, frisbee, and video games.
