Luke 2:1- 20
Advent of Hope- 3rd Sunday

Into the Bible Discover Truth

  • READ: Luke 2:1- 20 - God decides to come into this world in a manger with humble messengers such as shepherds and He chose to leave on a cross between two theives leaving His message to be spread by some small town blue collar workers.
  • What does this say about the people God chooses to be His message to others?
  • What action did the shepherds take in response to hearing the angel's message? What have you done in response to Good News of Jesus birth, death and resurrection to save sinners?
  • What action did the shepherds take after seeing that the sign of the Christ child was fulfilled? What was their attitude? Who have you told and who are you going to tell next about the Good News that is for all to hear?
  • What did you learn about God in how He sent Jesus into the world?

Application Obey the truth

  • In Luke 2:11, Jesus is identified as the Savior, Christ/ Messiah the Lord!
  • What has Jesus come to Save us from as Redeemer?
  • How should Jesus arrival as the worthy, all wise and eternal king affect who guides your life?
  • How should Jesus as Lord (God of Creation) change the way you see the world around you? What is our Lord Jesus desiring to do through you to change the world?
  • How can you be more faithful, like the shepherds, to share the Good News? Make a plan and by faith tell people the Good News!

Growth Group Questions Grow in truth together

  • The shepherds seemed to go about telling people the Good News Together! How can our group share the message of the Good News?
  •  God boldly enters this world through humble circumstances.  How can his example of how He brings the Good News to regular people guide you in sharing the Good News individually and as a group?
