“Harvest: Reasons to Celebrate”

Luke 10:17-24

Vv. 17-20 “Joy: participation and position”

  • Share the joyful experience of being on mission.

  • Satan is fighting a losing battle. Whose side are you one based on the evidence of the life you live?

  • God brings his people on missional victory over evil forces that oppose them.

  • Joy comes from victory in overcoming evil, as we obey Jesus in bringing the healing and saving Gospel to others.

  • Yet, the greater joy is knowing that you are secure in a relationship with God.

Vv. 21-24 “Learning from Jesus’ joyful praise”

  • The God of Creation is the sovereign active agent bringing about our salvation from beginning to end.

  • Just like God, be intimately unified with God and other believers in accomplishing God’s mission.

  • Celebrate that Jesus has called you by His grace to participate in His mission.

  • Celebrate that Jesus chooses the humble to join His saving work and not the self-righteous.

  • Trust God’s plan, power, and grace to work through you. Don’t wait.

  • Be blessed by having the saving faith that results in joining Jesus on His mission.

  • What did God think about His creation? see Genesis 1:3, 1:10, 1:12, 1:18, 1:22, 1:25, 1:31

  • According to Psalms 95:3-5, why does all Creation belong to God?

  • Who sustains Creation? Colossians 1:17

  • All the world was at peace because God created everything in peace. So what brought sin and evil into the world? Genesis 3:1-13; Romans 5:12

  • What has God done that restores people to peace? Romans 5:6-11; John 3:16

  • Who does God use to bring this message of peace and how are they to do it? Acts 1:8, Matt. 28:16-20

  • What should be your new attitude and purpose for this life you are now living? 2 Corinthians 5:14-21

  • What is the Good News and according to Paul in 1 Corinthians 15:1-6, and why is it trustworthy?

  • What is more powerful in seeing sinners saved by God’s grace- 1)Your ability or 2)Your obedience?
